This Holiday Season, Thank a Soldier
During the holidays it seems that we are more likely to think about giving back to our community and the people around us. We volunteer in soup kitchens, visit nursing homes and donate money to charities
. Often we forget that there are thousands of men and women representing the United States and putting their lives on the line 24/7 in order to keep us safe at home.
The Xerox company has created a website on which you can select from a collection of postcards designed by children across the country. When you choose one it will be sent to a member of our armed forces stationed overseas.
The best part? It doesn’t cost you a thing and you will be spreading the happiness, joy, peace, love and all those other buzzwords that the holidays are all about.
To send an overseas military member a free postcard all you have to do is visit LetsSayThanks.com, pick a card, personalize it and click SEND. The card you create will be printed by Xerox and sent to a solider overseas who needs it most.
As a former Airman myself I ask that each of you take 5 minutes out of your day and send at least one card to help one of our own feel a little less isolated this holiday. It’s the least we can do, really.
