31 Days of Freebies – Day 11: Dropbox

by: Frugal Michael Monday, January 11th, 2010

It happened to me last year when I was working on a deadline for one of my clients.  I had been writing on a project for 2 weeks nonstop and BOOM! My laptopGone Frugal 31 Days of Freebies got the dreaded “blue screen of death” that means only one thing – you are up a creek without a paddle unless a computer guru can save some of your data for you.  But how long will that take and what will happen in the meantime?

Now there is Dropbox.  Dropbox is a little software program that works like a mini insurance policy, ensuring that you will never again be at risk of losing all of your important work to a computer error again.  But wait, there’s more!

Gone Frugal Dropbox Software

With Dropbox you can also sync your information among different computers!  If you have ever been at work when you needed a file you had at home, you can easily understand the value of this.  Oh wait… even more?  Yes!  Dropbox also stores a copy of your files in an online vault that you can access anytime, from anywhere!

Give Dropbox a try and you’ll have 2 gigs of file storage and backup available to you anytime!

I agree , I’ve been using Dropbox for 9 months now and its amazing. I backup my documents folder and have put a symlink to my desktop so I have ready access to my current files. It’s also really handy being able to access all your information when you are out and about using the iphone app where you can share files with other people.
There are also lots of info out there on how you can use it to synchronise preferences and setting for your favourite apps.
Here’s my referral if anyone wants an extra 250MB
